If you're interested in Matterhorn's admin tools and you have a spare moment,
please have a look at the screenshot attached to
http://opencast.jira.com/browse/MH-7997 . This is a very simple role
management UI, but I think it or something like it should meet our very simple
needs.
Please note that I specifically left out other kinds of user-related management
here (e.g. password reset). There is no guarantee that these "internal"
accounts have passwords at all. These user/role tuples can be used as full
fledged accounts (having hashed passwords in the database), or can be used to
augment users with roles provided by other installed user providers (these
contain no passwords, and can not be used to authenticate users).
Although this page inserts itself into its own navigation tabs, none of the
other admin pages have been changed, so /admin/users.html remains hidden. We
can move this to the system console, or start creating sub tabs under an
advanced tab, or or whatever folks think is best. Please feel free to share
feedback here and by all means feel free to prettify the UI in trunk.
