Hi all, Right before the break we had a short one week sprint here to put together the ability to export media from the system. Capture agent media isn't very user friendly, and we found a number of people (dept admins and faculty themselves) were interested in exporting a given lecture to put up outside of our systems.
To support this we added a new UI that allows an admin to give a gstreamer command line which is then passed, along with a media package, to a workflow handler. The handler executes the command, and the resultant media is distributed to a distribution service which provides some restriction on who is able to download the files. This last bit is a little bit of a hack, but the distribution service isn't meant to be long lasting, and instead is mean for quick export of files. Our work was done in this branch: https://opencast.jira.com/svn/MH/branches/MH-8395/ We're keen on adding a couple more features to this (notifications, for one), and are looking for folks who are willing to do some reviewing of and/or contributing to the work. We would like it to be a workflow that's packaged with 1.4 if possible. Any takers?
