Dear committers and developers, this e-mail is coming from the developers that have been present at today's developer meeting. We basically agreed that 1.3 *must* be released prior to the meeting at Oxford, which is in about 3 weeks.
Quite a number of tickets are currently assigned to developers that haven't shown up at the meetings for quite some time, while there are developers without tickets assigned that are also not active and helping the release. Please be aware that having commit rights does not only give you the power and flexibility to change code in the project. You are also asked to help sustain the effort, and invest a little bit of your time and knowledge to the project on a regular basis. Given that we are roughly 20 developers with commit rights, and there are around 30 outstanding issues for 1.3, it would take every developer to fix 1. something tickets within the next week to get the release out. Don't you think that the project deserves that small portion of your time to get your 1.x ticket fixed? The least you can do is do a quick install of 1.3 and take a closer look at your area of expertise, reporting bugs or giving heads up where you see fit. Please take a look at Jira and see whether there is something that you could possibly be fixing within a reasonable period of time. If tickets are assigned to you, and you know you can't get them done shortly, please comment accordingly and assign them to Greg.
