I only know to create patches that way because someone suggested it to me
around a year and half ago :)
I've tested the patch and have some bad news. I created three captures with
different permissions.
1. Public so everyone including anonymous should be able to see it
2. Configured for Series 1 so that it should be watchable by student 1 and
admin but not anonymous
3. Setup to be in Series 2 so that only admin should be able to see it
With the patch everyone can see all of the recordings, they don't have access
to places they shouldn't be (student 1 and anonymous aren't able to get to the
admin ui for example) but I am guessing that when the videos are added to the
Solr search it is adding the role ROLE_ANONYMOUS to all of our recordings. I
will take a look at the search service and see if there is a convenient place
to add a search for the ROLE_ANONYMOUS as well as the current user's role.
