Chris, I don't think that we can easily and completely drop the query. From my
point of view, we should try to:
1) Remove the unwanted values at join time (requires some JPA knowledge)
2) Add proper indexing (requires some database knowledge)
3) Look into hard coded queries (once we start this, we give away lots of what
JPA adds)
