I've done some additional testing, which at first gave the impression, that 1.3
was not affected, but it is.
Please schedule the recording like one day into the future, and keep a calendar
schedule update of like 1 minute on the CA.
Then take a look at the "schedule.ics" on the CA. After some updates of the
schedule, it shows something like this:
SUMMARY:Ã<U+0083>Ã<U+0083>Ã<U+0082>Ã<U+009C>Ã<U+0083>Ã<U+0083>Ã<U+0082>ü

with the numbers of <U+0083> exponentially increasing (doubling) with every
scheduler update, eventually breaking the whole scheduling mechanism with this
exception being thrown:
2012-04-25 11:58:42 ERROR (JobRunShell:211) - Job recurring.calendarUpdate
threw an unhandled Exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space ...
and after that, the logs will show this:
2012-04-25 12:00:36 INFO (SchedulerImpl:474) - Scheduler is currently locked,
update is already in progress...
without the scheduler recovering by itself - restart needed. The size of the
file schedule.ics will increase to something like 134220046 (I guess that is
dependent on the memory available), and then not anymore (because the exception
was thrown, and the scheduler is locked).
I can reproduce this on all our capture agents, which are mostly 1.3 with the
core being 1.2 or 1.3.
