Unconference attendees:
It's so exciting to see the high levels of participation in the Matterhorn
project and amazing new developments. This is going to be an awesome
Unconference!
I'm unable to attend myself, but am hopeful that the spirit of "user
experience" will continue to contribute to the project. In particular, I see
that RĂ¼diger has proposed a session on "The Future of the Admin UI", which is
very timely (and I hope occurs...am I allowed to add my vote even if I can't be
there?). Hopefully an outcome of this discussion will not only be a list of
desired features but also some consensus around *who* the admin UI is for.
While creating a revised persona is undoubtedly out of scope, it would be good
to try to make sure there's some current agreement on the skills & levels of
understanding (related to Matterhorn's underlying architecture and more) that
we expect the user to have, as well as such things as frequency of use (which
impacts what they'll *remember* when using the tool) and their most common
tasks. (Some of this has been discussed already in the comments at [1].) Time
will be a scarce resource, I know, but this is important if we want a usable
system!

Safe travels to all and have a great week,
Judy

p.s. if we are going to continue to develop the current admin UI, we need to
come up with UI guidelines for future development. As a first step in that
direction, I have started to document the current UI inconsistencies.
Additional contributions/feedback welcome.
