FYI, this issue was discovered for the Sakai 2012 Conference as the MH CA and
server were running 1.1.x.
I just tested 1.4.x and it appears this bug has been quashed sometime between
these two releases.
However, there is still a remnant of an issue - while you can input special
characters into the "Series" field and the new "Series" shows up in the
"Series" tab, it appears that the recording entry will not display/have a
series with special characters in it.
Let me know if you want me to dig more into it and look for a Jira ticket for
this issue.
