The University of Osnabrück and the ELAN e.V. are proud to announce a
new Contrib Tool for Matterhorn:
The Matterhorn Remote Inbox (MHRI)
The intend of the Matterhorn Remote Inbox is to offer an easy way to
ingest your media files into Matterhorn. The idea we had to achieve
this, is to create a small software that runs on your own computer and
watches some directories that you predefined. Each directory represents
a series. Each sub-directory is an episodes within this series. You can
place several media files in an episode directory. They are separated
into the different flavors by customizeable tags in the filenames.
Currently you have to press one button to start the ingest process (but
we are working on automazing this too).
You can now use any recording or video editing tool that you want to
easily integrate it with Matterhorn.
We optimized and tested MHRI to work under Windows 7, although it will
probably work with other OSes like linux and MacOS too. You need a Java
7 JRE and the upcomming Matterhorn 1.4 version as we use the chunked
upload that will be introduced there.
We modified a second tool called TheRec [2] to work as a multi-stream
recorder with this Remote Inbox. But I will explain TheRec more in
detail in my next mail.
You can download MHRI here [1]. Please be aware that this is a very
first version with still very basic functionality and we will come up
with several improvements in the next updates. MHRI is free software
licensed under the ECL 2 license. The software was written by Denis
Meyer and Benjamin Wulff from the Osnabrück Matterhorn team.
Feel free to test and use the software!
