Hi David,
You might be running into MH-8764 (and MH-9052), which can be fixed by doing
some apt-get updates:
sudo apt-get install --force-yes python-software-properties
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openjdk/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
