It's on now in the rc so I assume it's a done deal; it's also too powerful a feature to leave it out even if it hasn't been implemented in the most usable way. You *know* I'd prefer a more integrated solution (Sergio had worked on a slightly more integrated solution--where all objects that a non-technical user might think as of as "recordings" were found in the Recordings tab-- but it appears we never followed thru to get the patch in and I assume it's too late/dangerous to do so now) but this seems to be a risk-free way to fix at least a couple of problems.
