In IE 9 I can only reproduce the problem if you bring up the Developer Tools
and set browser mode to 'compatibility view' or Document mode is to something
other than 'IE9 Standards'. So workaround in IE9 is to make sure you are using
the default Standards Mode.
The issue still occurs though for < IE 9 as excanvas.js (provides canvas object
for Internet Explorer <IE9) is not included ( seems to have been overwritten
during merge r12008).
If excanvas is included and the initialized for the canvas object it works with
IE7 but the themed backdrop does not appear in IE8 and you get white text on a
white background.
As Bluff is no longer supported and Highcharts is now being used for the
metrics maybe it would be better to use that for the performance graph instead.
