The patch does fix the original problem reported in this ticket. However, it
does not completely fix YouTube distribution - see MH-9236 (which is patched)
and MH-9237 which remains open.
There needs to be more work on this issue to verify the patch. Unfortunately,
I won't have time to complete the tasks below as I need to concentrate on UCB's
Instructor OPT-IN app for the next weeks.
Here is the list of tasks that I think should be done:
1) We need to decide on how we use the combined bundle as discussed above. I
did add the Sakai repository to our list of repositories in base/pom.xml so
that the bundle is now being pulled from there. That can be removed if we
either build our own bundle or install the sakai bundle in the Matterhorn maven
repository. If we use the Sakai bundle we may need to alter the Matterhorn
license as discussed above.
2) Although all references to the "obsolete" mail and activation jars have
been removed, any server that has been built before this patch will end up with
both the "obsolete" and new jars in lib/ext. Probably the
matterhorn-runtime-dependencies ant task needs to be modified to remove them so
that only the combined bundle remains in lib/ext.
3) The SMTP Service needs to be tested with the new combined bundle. I
haven't been able to exercise it, after several attempts, using the email-error
workflow job which is where I believe it is mostly used. Any other areas where
the SMTP Service is used need to be tested. Not sure if there are any others
in use currently but I don't think so.
4) An integration test for YouTube distribution - I won't have time to do this
now but it would verify both this fix and the ultimate fix for MH-9237. I can
assist with Youtube account credentials for testing if someone else picks this
up.
