This may be a dumb question, but are you submitting your jobs from
/var/spool/maui/log? If so, torque is wanting to copy the i/o files to
there because it is the value of PBS_O_WORKDIR.

I kludged it by doing "chmod 1777 /var/spool/maui/log", but
I wonder if this is correct.
