3. Latest Version of TORQUE Now Available for Download

TORQUE 2.3.5 has been officially released. This release fixes a regression in
TORQUE 2.3.4 pertaining to the libtorque.so version number. The version is now
restored to libtorque.so.2.

Here is a summary of changes:

c - crash b - bug fix e - enhancement f - new feature

e - added new init.d scripts for Debian/Ubuntu systems
b - fixed regression in 2.3.4 release which incorrectly changed soname
for libtorque

We recommend using this new version instead of TORQUE 2.3.4.

4. Did You Know: Job Priority Factors

Did you know that Moab has the most flexible job priority settings available?
Moab allows jobs to be prioritized based on a range of job-related factors,
including credential, fairshare, resource, service, target service, usage, and
job attribute. For example, factors that would give a job a higher priority
include the length of time a job is in the queue, the type of application being
requested, or the size of the job. These factors are broken down into a
two-tier hierarchy of priority factors and subfactors, each of which can be
independently assigned a weight. This approach provides the administrator with
detailed yet straightforward control of the job-selection process.

Each factor and subfactor can be configured with independent priority weight
and priority cap values. In addition, per-credential and per-QoS priority
weight adjustments may be specified for a subset of the priority factors. For
example, QoS credentials can adjust the queuetime subfactor weight, and group
credentials can adjust fairshare subfactor weight.
