Thanks Bas for the reply. This is what i have when i followed up on your
suggestion:

caeli...@caelinux-desktop:~/maui-3.3$ which checknode
/usr/local/maui/bin/checknode
caeli...@caelinux-desktop:~/maui-3.3$ ls /usr/local/maui/bin
canceljob    mclient    mstat        sethold     showgrid   showstats
changeparam  mdiag      releasehold  setqos      showhold
checkjob     mjobctl    releaseres   setres      showq
checknode    mnodectl   resetstats   setspri     showres
diagnose     mprof      runjob       showbf      showstart
mbal         mschedctl  schedctl     showconfig  showstate
caeli...@caelinux-desktop:~/maui-3.3$ ls /usr/local/maui/sbin
maui

Is there somehow i should link to those under the /usr/local/maui/bin for the
commands to work?

Are the executables located in:
  - /usr/local/maui/bin (ls)
  - /usr/local/maui/sbin (ls)

and a better command is:
  - which checknode
