I'm trying to set up preemption on maui/torque: i.e. for people to be
able to submit
jobs to nodes that aren't theirs on the basis that when a more
privileged user submits a job theirs will be killed and requeued.
My attempt to set up two such queues in maui looks like this:
PREEMPTPOLICY REQUEUE
QOSWEIGHT 100
QOSQTWEIGHT 1
QOSCFG[gps1] QFLAGS=PREEMPTOR PRIORITY=1000000
QOSCFG[free96] QFLAGS=PREEMPTEE PRIORITY=-1000000
I've also tried these, almost at random:
# SYSCFG QLIST=gps1,free96
# CREDWEIGHT 1
# CLASSWEIGHT 1
# GROUPCFG[users] QLIST=gps1,free96
# CLASSCFG[gps1] QDEF=gps1 PRIORITY=1000000
# CLASSCFG[free96] QDEF=free96 PRIORITY=-1000000
My impression is that what I've done is probably necessary but not
sufficient but it's hard to find out exactly what would be sufficient
and I'm hoping somebody here would know.
