I'm using maui v. 3.3.1 with pbs/torque v.2.4.11 and it seems maui is refusing to share different jobs on the same nodes (from maui.log):
10/12 12:13:59 INFO: located resources for 64 tasks (76) in best partition DEFAULT for job 1519 at time 00:00:00 10/12 12:13:59 ERROR: invalid nodelist for job 1519:0 (inadequate nodecount, 29 < 32) 10/12 12:13:59 WARNING: cannot allocate tasks for job 1519 at 00:00:00 There are clearly enough processors (76) free for the job (which needs 64, at 32 nodes/2 processors per node) and then maui decides that it can't start despite having enough processors to do so. Where is the configuration for allowing the stacking of jobs in maui? My maui.cfg has: BACKFILLPOLICY FIRSTFIT RESERVATIONPOLICY CURRENTHIGHEST RESERVATIONDEPTH = 20 NODEAVAILABILITYPOLICY UTILIZED NODEACCESSPOLICY SHARED NODEALLOCATIONPOLICY CPULOAD #also has a line for each node: NODECFG[node01] MAXJOB=2 ... etc Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matthew
