I think this is very poorly documented issue that happens all the time. A special "key" is hard-coded and compiled into the binaries, and if you do not specify the same key when you compile maui on each of your hosts, it will create a random one for you as it assumes this is a stand-alone install.
Another way to solve this problem is to compile on one host, then copy the binaries to all of your client nodes, assuming they are all the same architecture.
