Colin-1 in Mauritania to be abandoned: Hardman

Since the last report on the 28 July, Hardman said the Atwood Hunter rig drilled the Colin-1 exploration well to a final depth of 2,322 metres.
The company said that despite a thick and well-developed reservoir section, analysis of drilling data and wireline logs indicated that the well has not encountered any significant hydrocarbons.
As at midnight GMT on 31 July 2006, wireline logging was continuing prior to the well being plugged and abandoned, Hardman added.
Upon completion of operations, Hardman said the Atwood Hunter would be relocated to Block 8 to commence drilling the exploration well Flamant-1, which is targeting a large Cretaceous gas prospect.
Later in the drilling sequence, the oil and gas explorer said the rig would return to the PSC Area A to drill the Kibaro-1 prospect, which would test older Cretaceous aged channel sands.
At 1116 AEST, shares in Hardman Resources were 5c lower at $1.53, while plays in Woodside were down 10c to $42.69 and ROC Oil Company lost 7c to $4.27.
