Hi Danny, I believe this problem has been cropping up on Macs for several years. The images are not damaged. The issue (I think) is that they are not cryptographically signed with a key issued by Apple. If you temporarily disable the zealous security settings, see here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290 it may work. You can then re-enable after installing Mauve.
