This can all be done in javascript on the client, if you want to use
scripting. It really only has to do with what html you generate from the
view, and nothing on the server side.

If you want to use an anchor, instead of a button, a common trick is to
use a unique (if you want every link to have its own window) target name
on the anchor tag.

Here is an example.

<a href="showPicture.m?pic=123" target="PictWin">show picture (new
win)</a>

This trick should also work on with the form tag, but I haven't tested
that.


Searching google for "target attribute new window" produces good
results.
