I understand what everyone's saying here and I'm not arguing about the Maverick framework design as I actually like it a lot (and I think I understand the basics fairly well at this early stage as the demos are fairly good). The issue is I'm not a Java programmer and I'm plunging into the deep end of the pool in learning both the concepts behind the framework and Java at the same time. I don't believe the "use the source, Luke" approach to documentation is as strong as presenting simple clear documentation and FAQ's at any level. Once I've got my head around the framework and Java I can make an informed decision as to what framework to choose out of the plethora of framework options that we are looking at and good documentation certainly helps in this process.
As to Jeff's suggestion about "documentation patches eagerly accepted", if Maverick's the way our company decides to go, and I've got the time I'll take up the request to contribute...:-) On a different note I found Maverick works quite seamlessly with Tomcat but Tomcat should really be called "Tomdog" it's so slow. Much better performance with Resin but only after I switched to Apache Xerces/Xalan to do all the XSLT stuff as I got constant exceptions using the default Resin XSL libraries. Has anybody encountered this problem as well?
