I ordered (and received) the disks, but haven't upgraded
(from LinuxPPC 2000 w/numerous "manual" updates) yet.
Could you go into more detail about the monitor snag? The
near-universal wailing & gnashing of teeth associated with
getting Xfree86 4.x working right on PPCs (especially on
the beige G3's Mach64/Rage Pro video) is one reason I've
been putting it off.
Right now, I use the Xpmac/USB v10 server (equivalent to
Xfree 3.3.x) and it works. I can't change resolutions
without booting back to MacOS & editing the BootX string,
but (again) it works.
I'll have to boot off the CD this evening & see what I can
do with the video without blowing away an aging but otherwise
functional installation....
