OK, I have a question that should flex your brains. Over on vintage Macs we are discussing a way to use old Macs with new printers. Specifically what we struck on is using the standard PostScript driver in older Mac OSs (LaserWriter 8 usually) to send the file to an OS X machine. What we really need, and this is the slightly complicated part, is to be able to use non-postcsript printers this way.
Is there a package for OS X/Darwin that will allow us to have a postscript print queue on an OS X machine tat sends file to CUPS (the system OS X uses for printing) and out to, for instance, a non-Postscript inkjet printer? I know some of you will be rolling on the floor laughing at how little I know about BSD systems but I'm just getting started in this whole shabang. I've already managed to instal, compile and setup an eggdrop bot for IRC and set up my DNS server this week - I'm on a roll, I thought I's try and finish on a high :) -- Mark Benson AIM - SilValleyPirate Visit FlatPackMacs online: <http://fpm.gotdns.com> "...you have a social security number, you pay your taxes, and you help your landlady carry out her garbage." -The Matrix -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> Send list messages to: <mailto:max-list@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:max-list-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:max-list-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
