I think Mandrake has a better installer for those that want to use a Linux
system with a GUI. A co-worker had an easier time with Mandrake after first
trying YDL.

I personally prefer Yellow Dog because it is closer to RedHat, which I run
on my Intel machines. Yellow Dog also provides a text install, which is my
preferred installation method.

It used to be that YDL was the only distro that supplied ppc RPMs to
rpmfind.net, but now Mandrake has a PPC Cooker as well as a Intel one.

One other thing, YDL is based in the US, while Mandrake is French (with a
US office in Pasadena), if that matters to you ;)
