Not at all sure if it would work, but there is a light-weight version of 
Mozilla called Phoenix that supposedly runs on Linux. I'm not sure if it 
could be compiled to work on Darwin or not, but it might be worth a try. 
I've been using it as my regular browser (On Windows, admittedly...) since 
version 0.3 and it runs great. Still a tad unstable, but very very usable.
