Max out the RAM, and use the trimmest window manager you can, like Blackbox. It _should_ work, but won't be exactly what you call speedy. All due respect to 68k hardware, but it's probably much more appropriate to console mode and low-demand server use, now that we're in the day of 3 GHz computers. >Also, I see both the various Linuxes and the various BSDs >offered for sale on CD-Rom for Intel boxes, but so far the >only Mac system I have found on CD is Yellow Dog. Can >someone suggest a vendor where the various Linuxes and >BSDs are available for Mac on CD? I bought the "Mac hacker special" from Bob Nestor. I like having both the 68k and PPC ports on a single CD, it's very convenient. Bob is courteous and very quick to ship. <http://www.netbsd.org/Sites/cdroms.html> The link to Bob's site here is broken though. Dunno if he's moved it??? Tim -- Tim Larson <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< Info.
