I'm assuming you hadn't read my most recent email before responding to this one, but to simplify this, I'll give you the example of our setup here.
We have Bellsouth FastAccess. It's hooked into the Alcatel SpeedTouch Home(not USB) modem. It has an Ethernet out port which connects to our Linksys Router. I have 2 computers hooked directly into the router, and 4 hooked into a hub, which connects to the router. I have DHCP turned off in the router, and I have manually assigned each computer an IP address. I use the Port Forwarding of the router to direct any incoming traffic on http to the FileMaker database server. Any AppleTalk requests get directed to my iMac, and ftp gets directed to a Windows 98 machine in another office(this is solely for the benefit of the lady who uses that computer to access from home). I've only ever seen 1 ADSL modem/Router combo in action. Earthlink gave it to a friend of mine for his Earthlink access. Personally, I'd avoid that route because he seems to have problems with it constantly. Besides, it will only issue 1 IP address, which would be useless to you since you need multiple computers to be live.
If you have more questions, I'd be glad to answer them, but you should probably email me off-list since this thread is off-topic. I'm away from this email on Fri.(most of the time), Sat., and Sun., so send to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Peace, Todd
