IIRC, the version of OF on the S900 sends its output to the serial
port, not the screen.  Hook up a cable from the modem port to the
serial port of a terminal / computer running a terminal emulation
program and you should be able to access OF.

I think XPost Facto (normally used for installing Mac OS X on
unsupported Macs) might be able to redirect the OF output to the
screen.

You can also do this from within Open Firmware. Google for a list of Open Firmware commands, and you should come up with the solution. Setenv something. But if the above about the S900 is correct, you'll need a serial terminal session to be able to see and type into OF.


You can download terminal emulators for just about any old Mac or PC you have lying around.
