There are two challenges: (1) As you mentioned, it is a serial printer, so you need to make sure that the printing system (for example, CUPS) can address the serial port. For some hints, see http://www.allosx.com/1030154694/1031343461/1038311680/index_html
(2) It is a QuickDraw printer, not a PostScript or PCL printer. This is a much bigger challenge. While there are suggestions of QuickDraw support in some open software, I'm not sure that it really works (aside from for some StyleWriters). Google for quickdraw + things like linux, unix, cups, and so forth: http://www.google.com/search?q=cups%20quickdraw http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+quickdraw In short, this doesn't look like it will be very easy (maybe not even possible). Recommendation: find a cheap PostScript or PCL printer instead. Good luck... -j [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 8/27/04 3:51 PM wrote: >From: Jeroen Diederen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date: Fri, 27 Aug 2004 13:51:14 +0200 > >Can someone tell me if I can have an Apple Laserwriter LS (with no support >for Appletalk) connected to a Linux box and have it served?
