Hello Jens,

create a medium of type pipe (e.g. "dbmcli -d ... -u ...,... medium_put PIPE
\\.\pipe\maxdbnull PIPE DATA"), start pipe2file to read from that pipe (e.g.
"pipe2file -d pipe2file -p \\.\pipe\maxdbnull -f c:\tmp\null -readonly -npwait"),
start your backup and rest assured, that you will never be able to restore that backup
again.

Best Regards,

Subject: Backup to /dev/null with Windows

Hello,
I want to make a backup SAPDB / WINDOWS 2000 ADV SERVER to /dev/null.

If I use UNIX I create a medium NULL to /tmp/null.
After that I create a knod on the server with mknod /tmp/null p -> chmod
777 /tmp/null
cat null >> /dev/null. Then I begin the backup and every thing is fine

If there a way with WINDOWS 2000 ADV Server to create a backup to
/dev/null?

Thanks
Jens
