Hi Peter, it looks like the well known problem of the 7.3 releases. Your data base is not filled with temporary data pages, although the DBMGUI shows it on the main screen!

This value specifies how many pages in the data area are not usable for permanent data pages. This 'reserved space' is usable for temporary pages only. Unfortunately :( the DBMGUI shows this 'reserved area' as temporary USED, although it's empty. The RESERVED_REDO_SIZE is used for restart only. It's used to build transaction specific log file for the redo operation. If RESERVED_REDO_SIZE is configured with zero LOGSIZE DIV 2 gives the size of the reserved area. (see documentation) 1)LOGSIZE DIV 2 = RESERVEDREDO; 2)SERVERDBSIZE - RESERVEDREDO = usable for perm data 1) 655.357 DIV 2 = 327.678 2) 655.360 - 327.678 = 327.682 = usable for perm data You should reduce the configuration parameter RESERVED_REDO_SIZE. In the worst case the restart will fail, because the data area is full. Then you have to add a new data devspace. You could set the RESERVED_REDO_SIZE to the minimum of 400, then the RESERVEDREDO is 400 pages. For security reasons I suggest to use 20.000 pages and more. This depends from the savepoint rate, the length of the transactions etc. BTW: In 7.4 no RESERVED_REDO_SIZE is needed.
