thank you for the detailed description! I've been waiting for some sort of recommendation quite a while - but SAPDB's answers were usually very
vague...


What strikes me that you only have a 256MB partition on your hdf and hdg drives. Is there any particular reason for this "waste" of disk space?

Have you ever evaluated performance differences regarding
SCSI vs. IDE drives,
hardare vs. software raid,
raw vs. cooked (ext3) filesystem?

PS.: Is there going to be an 'official' recommentation by SAP / MySQL concerning disk/raid/volumes/fs setup?
