The Problem with this solution is that you can not define service
dependencies.

If you need to be sure that the database is running before e.g. the
application server prozess is started, you have to do it as service.

You could use dbmcli to start the database when the system starts:

Note: a future version of MaxDB will use the Autosave Log state when the
database is started as a service. Then the first solution mentioned in
the link above will be all that's needed.
