Hi,

I am curently looking (evaluating) at the different methods of backing up
the SAPDB using the Networker as the external backup tool. One way of
backing up the database is to use the interface 'backint for Oracle' since
the backint for Oracle is supported by the Networker.

Question: What is the advantage, if any, of using the backint for oracle
interface in comparison to backing up via Pipes or Files (Pipes are also
supported by the Networker). ? Certainly the configuration seems
to be more complex than using pipes or files. An additional licence charge
for the backint for oracle will also be incurred.

Is there any preferred method of backing up the database using
the Networke as the external backup tool?

Any comments, suggestions and help made is much appreciated.

Best regards,

T. Klose
