A short question about linux and dirty cache on SMP System

At the moment I'am using sapdb 7.4 and had a huge problem with my Linux
(Redhat AS) system and SapDB. I write a databasecalculation with
thousands of selects/inserts/update per hour a become a huge problem
with the dirty cache area. It becomes gre<ter and greater and to clean
it I must restart the server.

After 5 Minutes the size is about 1 GB after 15 Minutes its about 1.5 GB
and so on. You see the end of my 16GB Ram is reach very fast and than
the machine is swapping the hole time.

And now my question, how can I stop it?

Cheers,

Gert
