If updated the Python package for Solaris: ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapdb/bin/sun/sapdb-python-sun-32bit-sparc-7.4.03.31a.tgz.
Just unpack it somewhere other than <dependent path>/misc and add that directory to $PYTHONPATH. This should also fix some cores that were reported when the Python 2.3 libraries were used.
