After reading a few posts I'm including my knldiag & knldiag.err files for further
information.
Can anyone help me out here? (See below - windows 2000 sp4 installation.)

Have uninstalled (and confirmed removal of services and diectories) rebooted and
reinstalled - all under network adminstrative accounts. Have also tried altering the
accounts for the services from localsystem to network admin group in case I had a
permissions problem.
Does anyone know what file it might be referring to and what config data I need to
supply?
Could this be a corrupted download or incorrect version?
Please help, I crazy!

Hi. I'm an new user of maxDB/SAPDB - I'm happy with either term. I got version 7.5.0.5
from MySql.com earlier this week.
I've followed the guide on installation and instance creation at
http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/htmhelp/14/774939e5523668e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
So I installed maxDB, the Database manager (v7.4), then SQL studio.
However I'm having a problem starting up my initially configured instance. The error I
get (from application event log) is:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAPDB - HBC_web :
- ERROR TID: 0x350 PID: 0x138 MsgID: 18913
Error opening parameter file:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it.
After installing maxDB (can confirm that unstarted services are present in the service
manager) I created the installation (logs and datafiles all over 20-00 pages, I
changed the anme and password of the DBM account and made sure that the complete
installation took place logged on as administrator) and started the installation
wizard using the database manager, but basically it won't start.
I can send my installation log if required (from C:\program
files\sapdb\indep_data\wrk\MaxDBSoftware_install....log) but if you need any other
config data you'll have to tell me where to look - I can tell yuou that it failed at a
very early stage in trying to start the instance, though.
Any help would be most appreciated. I anticipate that maxDB will be the corporate
database for all our OLTP if we get this problem resolved - since the management &
installation tools looked absolutely superb and the pedigree of the product is 2nd to
none.
