Johann,

Have you had any luck with this problem? I'm having the exact same issue
with max 7.5.05 on a RedHat 8 machine and am tired from beating my head
against it. Has anyone else out there run into this? It's not a group
membership problem but Web DBM returns:

"-24875 The operating system user is not a member of the database
administrators group."

And wahttp pops up a "Password mismatch" message simultaneously.

After appx. 47234 tries at this, I don't think it's a password issue and
I've even tried multiple users from the sdba group and verified that the
sdba group is the default in /etc/opt/sdb.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Subject: -24875 The operating system user... ; 149,UNIX password mismatch

I got this message when I try to create an instance of the database from
the DBMGUI.
I tried both with max 7.5.05 and 7.5.08alpha on a Debian with a kernel
2.4.22-1-686-smp
but I always got the same message when I enter the system login and
password in wizard.
I also read the followup at http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb/19146
concerning the same problem,
so I added the sdb user to the sdba group using usermod -G, and the
entry in my
/etc/group is: sdba:x:1004:sdb but it always finish with the following
message:

-24875 The operating system user is not a member of the database
administrators group. [user_system ...]; 149,UNIX password missmatch

Any workaround?

Best Regards,

Johann
