Hello All.

I recently installed a tape autoloader on a SAPDB (7.3.0.43) Linux server. I
have full control of my autoloader and tape device with my SAPDB admin user
(the sqd<SID> user ).

My tape load command looks like this "mtx -f /dev/sg0 load 1" (This would
load tape 1). When I put this command into the autoloader field of the
DBMGUI, its not possible to load a tape before the start of a backup. The
backup takes a long time to start and then gives the following error
message:

2003-12-15 20:08:18 1407 ERR 11000 page0io_ I/O error: No medium found

2003-12-15 20:08:18 1411 ERR 52012 SAVE error occured, basis_err 3700

It seems to me SAPDB is maybe looking for a tape in the drive (/dev/st0)
without managing to load first.

Any ideas ? Can SAPDB autoload tapes on Linux ?

Thanks

Pierre du Plessis.
