I had the same problem with upgrading to 7.4.3.31 on Win2K. There is a new
service called XServer that must be started. After I started the service
everything was fine.

hi list,
after upgrading from maxdb 7.5.005 --> 7.5.008 running on debian woody,
i can connect fine with dbm_cli and databasemanager. but i am unable to
get a connect with sqlstudio.
i get odbc-error sqlod32.dll maxdb unable to connect to data source;
-709 CONNECT : connection refused) return-code: SQL_ERROR (-709)
this is meant by message code:
709: Connect failed, check SERVERDB
Explanation:
An error was detected while processing the connection (CONNECT statement).
User Action:
1. Check the name of the database and correct it if necessary.
2. Check whether the database instance has the operation status
ONLINE. If not, start the database instance.
3. If the data transfer to the database instance has been
interrupted, you must restore it.
database name is ok

datatransfer has been interrupted??
i had some troubles with with importing 24mio testfiles. changing the
primary key did nothing, stopped this after 5day's and deleted the
corresponding usergroup (the complete instance only for test's)
but the used space was not given free!
the data is still at 67% (in dbmanager), but there are no data.
now after upgrading i am unable to login.
as said above.
the data are unimportant. this instance is for learning maxdb.
