but at the moment i can't change to a local install to a non Web-Server.
This Web-Server is serving different applications with connects to different databases.
I need some features of SAPDB at this Server. So i've to change from MYSQL.

no connection from debian stable (apache 1.36,php4,unixodbc) to debian unstable machine (maxdb 7.5.0.5) through odbc.
installing all components (apache,php4,unixodbc,maxdb) on the same
machine solved this and php can connect to maxdb.
there seem to be some problems in remote-access code of the odbc driver of maxdb 7.5.x
