Hello Thorn, did you migrate to 7.4.3 and created the log backups with 7.4.3 or did you create a complete backup with the migrate command and several log backups with 7.3?

The initial install had no errors beyond some bad indices which I deleted. Initially I was able to recover 2 log files following the full backup restore. However, attempts to recover from later log files all failed. In DBMGUI the log files report "Skipped". db_restartinfo reports the database is restartable. I have rebuilt the database from scratch several times, running "init config" or "clear log" but the results are the same, except that even the first 2 log files which were initially restored are no longer read. I tried restoring to a point in time but that made no difference. I upgraded the hot standby database to 7.5 and got the same results, producing message like these for each log file: 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 12 Pager Start Read Converter 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 13 Pager Stop Read Converter, Pages: 69 IO: 69 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATA_CACHE_REGIONS : 8 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool B20_DATACACHE_HEAD : 159568 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE head num item: 9973 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE head item siz: 16 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE task queue : 2160 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool US + SV + DW + 8 : 90 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE taskq elem : 24 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool B20_DATACACHE_TASKQ : 161728 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynDATA DATA_CACHE_PAGES : 1239 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool B20_DATACACHE_CB : 138768 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE num cblocks : 1239 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DATACACHE cblock size : 112 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynpool DYNP_B20_DATACACHE :2403968 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 54003 dynDATA DYND_B20_DATACACHE : 9912 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 53000 B*TREE Restart FileDir finished successfully 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 28 Kernel Migration enabled for 'openTransFileWithMinEotSeq' 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 0 Log no update of LogInfoPage: DeviceState = Cleared, LogIsEmpty = true 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 6 Log 1 queues, flushmode is 'MinimizeSpace', devstate is 'Cleared' 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 7 Log Oldest not saved is ioseq NIL @ off 1 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 9 Log LogVolume not completely written until now 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 5 Log Restart from ioseq 4294967295 @ off 4294967295 to ioseq NIL @ off 4294967295 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 10 Log Result after checking the log device: 'Ok' 2004-01-29 11:42:30 8 11597 IO Open '/bak/MENGINE/autosave.487' successfull, fd: 23 2004-01-29 11:42:30 110 12821 TASKING Thread 110 starting 2004-01-29 11:42:30 110 11565 startup DEVi started 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 11000 vasynope '/bak/MENGINE/autosave.487' devno 34 T37 succeeded 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 52101 RESTORE Filetype: file 2004-01-29 11:42:30 12 11000 vasynclo '/bak/MENGINE/autosave.487' devno 34 T37 2004-01-29 11:42:30 8 12822 TASKING Thread 110 joining 2004-01-29 11:42:30 110 ERR 11000 asynclos tape open error (/bak/MENGINE/autosave.487) for rewind: Permission denied -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaxDB Discussion Mailing List For list archives: http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb To unsubscribe: http://lists.mysql.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
