I have seen this on Solaris as well. I kept trying to set up raw devices
in the GUI with no luck, finally went back to dbmcli. At some point I
noticed that if I left the "Link" setting when creating the devspace, it
worked correctly. I assumed that it was being very clever noticing that
the raw device name was actually a symlink to the real device in the
../devices tree. But your explanation makes more sense (I never looked
at the .prt output).
