With 7.4.03 build 33 an error was fixed related to long handling. However the problem occurred only, if the application disconnected just after inserting long columns. Is this the case in your application? If yes, please try the current driver from ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapdb/bin/win/ If there is no improvement please sent me an example application with all needed data in order to reproduce the error.
