Dear list,
i have the problem to connect to a sapdb instance from windows 2000
workstation based tools DBMGUI and SQLStudio (from Rel 7.4.3.30)
Environment:
Server:
debian Linux 2.4.x on intel
sapdb 7.4.3.32 server

Workstations (2 tested):
w2k, SAPDBtools 7.4.3.30

both machines in the same LAN Segment for development purpose.
This setup was running ok a long time. Then i had a db-crash because of
file system full problem (with autologging on) during a big test import.
After fixing this problem i cannot connect properly.
During the fixing process i upgraded the server to 7.4.3.32

Error:
DBMGUI: when i try to connect to the already registered instance i get the
error: "-24988 sql_error [sql_connect...] -4008 unknown user name/password
combination"
Then the instance icon switch to online state but the instance info page
in the middle didn't show actual values for volume sizes etc. They are
just blank. Yes i used the saved usr, passw combination and retyped it

The xserver.prt on the server said: 2291 ERR 11379 CONNECT Error
gettingTCP/IP host by address.

The problem with the SQLStudio disappeard after copying the dbm.upc to
DBM.upc and OFBIZ3T1.upc to ofbiz3t1.upc (ofbiz3t1 is the instance name).
I read this in another thread.
I had the message "ERR 11311 IPC idfile: 'UserProfileContainer(stat)' open
error, no such file or directory) in the xserver...prt file.
Is this because of my upgrade to 7.4.3.32?

What should i do now?
Thanks in advance

Viele Gruesse
Best Regards
