Automatic Extension

I have been searching for some documentation on the "automatic exension" 
feature in SAPDB/MAXDB but can only find a couple of messages on the 
mailing list.  This is what I gathered:

- The feature is turned on via:
   dbmcli> dbm_configset autoext on
   (I have done this, but have not filled a devspace yet.)
- The new data volume added has the same paremeters as the last one added.

- The new data volume is added when the database gets to 90%.

Could someone point me to any documentation and other configuration 
parameters, and confirm/correct the above information?
