Aloha, I want to reduce the amount of memory(Ram) used by the Sapdb 7.4, since the DB is getting to slow, I have litte to no xp with databases, but as much as i could figure out, the system( Linux Suse8.0 Sapdb7.4 Pentium3 1.2GHz 512M Ram) is running out off memory, when the DB is up and running, only 5 MB Ram is left, most of the memory is eaten by the kernel process of the DB.
I didn't set the DB up, i just have to maintain it now, the sapdb knowlege-base didn't really help me on this topic, nor does google. So, finaly the question, is there a possiblity to tweak the db down to a "nicer" memory usage?? And maybe this isn't real problem behind the slow DB ... if this is the case any help / ideas are welcome.
