7.5.0.8 leaves vserver running on shutdown?

I have a 7.5.0.8 installation on Linux 2.4.22 (using 
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5) on a 2.4GHz Athlon with 512MB RAM, with a single 
log file and data volume on striped IDE drives using raw devices over 
LVM. When I shutdown the database (x_server stop), it leaves a vserver 
process running. Is this correct behavior? WIll it cause a problem to 
shut down the system with vserver running?
